In StorLogix, your exit keypad can be set to one of 5 different modes. These modes control what times the exit keypad will allow a tenant to leave the facility.

  • Late exit not allowed.
    • The exit keypad will stop allowing access at the same time the entrance keypad does.
  • Timed late exit.
    • The exit keypad will allow late exit for a specific time period (Grace Period) after the entrance keypad stops working.
  • Counted late exit.
    • The exit keypad will allow a specific number (Count Limit) of late exits by a particular tenant.
  • Timed & Counted late exit.
    • A combination of the two previous settings.
  • Free late exit.
    • The exit keypad will work 24 hours a day.

To set this mode follow these steps:

  1. In StorLogix open the Settings menu.
  2. Select 17: Falcon XTHardware controller used in conjunction with StorLogix software to control AI Devices at a site..

AntiPassback (AKA AntiPiggyback) setup in StorLogix controls two things:

  • If a tenant must use a specific keypad before they can use another one. For example, if a site has a keypad to get into a gate, and then another keypad to get into a building. The system can be set up so that a code must be used at the gate keypad before that code will work for the building keypad.
  • How quickly a code can be used to enter the site repeatedly. This is most often used in situations involving a mangate or turnstile, and the access system uses cards for entry. This setup prevents users from "passing back" a card to a different user outside the gate or turnstile for them to use.

To set up your antipassback, follow these steps:

  1. In StorLogix open the Settings menu.
  2. Select 17: Falcon XTHardware controller used in conjunction with StorLogix software to control AI Devices at a site..
  3. In the lower left corner of the window that opens, make sure it says "Step 1 of 4". If it does not, click on the Advanced button.
  4. Select the controller you wish to change from the list, then click Next 3 times to advance to "Step 4 of 4".

(In some buildings ( i.e. ones with split levels) some elevators might not access all of the floors in the building). If the ground floor is the lowest floor, start on the first floor above that one that the elevator can access. If the building has basements below the ground floor that the elevator accesses, then the lowest basement will be floor "1" in these setups.
  7. Add in each floor of the elevator that is access controlled by selecting the floor number, and the relay that is activated for this floor. The description is filled out by default when the floor is selected, but can be edited if you want. Once finished, click on Add to place it in the list.

  8. In the above example, this elevator has three floors that are controlled by a keypad. The relays that are activated are located on an 8 channel relay board (address #2, relays 1, 2 and 3).

  9. Next, you have to set up the A/I Device that is used to control access at the elevator. This could be a keypad or a card reader. There are a few things to remember when setting up an A/I device for elevators.
  • In the second step of the setup, under the Move Users section, both the From Area and the To Area should be set to Offsite.
  • Also in the second step, the Function Mode should be set to Elevator, and the elevator that you just added in the steps above is selected from the drop down list.
  • In step 3, make sure that you do not select any relays to be activated.

  • Next, you will need to add an Access AreaA Setup used in StorLogix to define an area of the facility where users are allowed access. Used in conjunction with a "Time Schedule" to define an "Access Level". An access area can be a unit, a building, a floor of an elevator, an office or an area on the site. When a user is assigned to an Access Area, the user will inherit the Permissions to the items associated with that area. for each floor that you want to control access.
    • In the second step of the area setup, you will select the BuildingAn individual structure on a site that users and operators have access to, such as an office building, storage facility, parking structure, etc. Each building must be setup separately within StorLogix. / Floor combination. Each area will have a different floor.

      Elevator-2.PNG

    • In step 5 of the area setup, you must assign the unit numbers that are on that floor. You can select single units, or select multiple units by holding the shift key while clicking, and then click Add.

      Elevator-9.PNG
  • Last, you will need to set up an Access LevelA Setup used in StorLogix to define a user's access to the site, a building, or a unit. Access Levels are the access permissions for the user. The Access Level also contains the "Access Area" (defining what area the user may enter), and "Time Schedule" (what time of day the user may attempt access to the site or the assigned area). for each of the Access Areas that you just set up for the elevator. You will need a level for each Access AreaA Setup used in StorLogix to define an area of the facility where users are allowed access. Used in conjunction with a "Time Schedule" to define an "Access Level". An access area can be a unit, a building, a floor of an elevator, an office or an area on the site. When a user is assigned to an Access Area, the user will inherit the Permissions to the items associated with that area. / Time ScheduleThe hours that an operator, user or group of users are allowed to enter the site. Used in conjunction with an "Access Area" to define an "Access Level". combination that you have. For example, if you have 3 Access Areas for the elevators (floors 2, 3 and 4), and also have 2 Time Schedules (Standard Hours and 24 Hours) then you would need a total of 6 Access Levels set up for the elevators. Also note that the option Must have UnitAn individual space or room that can be rented to a user and is generally off limits to other users. must be checked so that the required unit numbers are used to discriminate which floors a tenant can access.

  • A Lighting Area is used to activate relays based on certain external events (such as a user entering an Access AreaA Setup used in StorLogix to define an area of the facility where users are allowed access. Used in conjunction with a "Time Schedule" to define an "Access Level". An access area can be a unit, a building, a floor of an elevator, an office or an area on the site. When a user is assigned to an Access Area, the user will inherit the Permissions to the items associated with that area.).
    1. The area is given a name and a description.
    2. Select the relay(s) that should be energized when the lighting zone is active.
    3. Pass Through Lighting AreaA lighting area that must be passed through in order to get to another lighting area. Generally a hallway. This lighting area must be lit in order to create a path to get to the other area which is generally a controlled lighting area also. (optional): If you have another Lighting Area set up that a user must go through to reach this Lighting Area, then you can select it here so that it is activated when this area is activated.
    4. On During Time ScheduleThe hours that an operator, user or group of users are allowed to enter the site. Used in conjunction with an "Access Area" to define an "Access Level". (optional): If you want the Lighting Area to activate at a certain time of day, then you can set up a Time ScheduleThe hours that an operator, user or group of users are allowed to enter the site. Used in conjunction with an "Access Area" to define an "Access Level". and assign it here. The Lighting Area can still be activated by a user coming into the area outside of the Time ScheduleThe hours that an operator, user or group of users are allowed to enter the site. Used in conjunction with an "Access Area" to define an "Access Level"..
    5. Trip On Input (optional): You can have the Lighting Area activate in response to an input to the system. This could be from a pushbutton, motion detector or other dry contact device.
    6. On for Time (optional): If you select an input to trigger the Lighting Area, set the amount of time that the area will be triggered before automatically deactivating.
    7. Off Delay TimeUsed in setting up Lighting Areas. Defines how long you want the lights to stay on after the last user logs out of the area.: When the last user exits an area, the area will deactivate. You can set a delay time here (in hours, minutes and seconds), if you want to delay deactivation after the last user has left. The default is to have no delay.

When a tenant comes onsite, the unit is disarmed and a timer is started to rearm the unit. This timer is supposed to be stopped if the unit door is opened. Check the following:

    • In StorLogix, open the Setup menu, then select item # 14: Units.
    • Select the unit in question and then Edit.
